We have a mirror in our bedroom that for years I thought was accurately reporting information on the weight loss/fitness journey. Sadly it wasn’t. It was a cheap mirror I bought in my first house years ago and is plastic not glass. That became apparent when I happened to look in a mirror in another bedroom.

It’s very easy to assume that the information being provided is reliable when you have nothing else to compare it to and at face value it appears to be correct.
