Find time to switch off

Sometimes you don’t realise how much you need to switch off. But when you do, how much you can actually end up switching off.

As a relatively frequent flyer, I pride myself at being fully prepared when turning up at security with electrical items, belt, etc. ready to put in the tray, smiling inward at those struggling to unpack half of Currys into the tray and inevitably having their bag searched and several litres of drink confiscated.

On a recent flight I’m sorry to say I let the frequent flier club down.

Not only did I spend 5 minutes at the wrong belt waiting for my bag (tutting at the selfish people who don’t move the trays after taking their bags off) but when I was reminded by my dear wife (oh did she enjoy telling me) where my bag was, the bag had been pulled as numerous electrical things were still in it.

I am marking this up as a complete switch off from everything, but it’s a timely reminder that everyone needs to take a break, power down, put yourself into out of office mode and let your brain relax.

Just don’t relax too much
